It is home to some of the best educational institutes in the country. In order to fulfill the needs of a changing world and make Pakistan’s education system more competitive on a global level, The Government of Punjab has set up a plan called National Education Reforms. Its goal is to provide the right quality and quantity of skilled and educated manpower for the economy by the year.
Under Section of this plan, higher education reforms, there are two major goals. The first is to establish university-level institutions within each district. The second is to upgrade public sector universities with modern facilities and equip them with state-of-the-art infrastructure and technology. The University is a public university. It was established in Sahiwal, Pakistan. The university offers undergraduate and graduate programs in engineering, humanities, sciences, and social sciences. The government of Punjab announced that it would establish four new universities: one each at Sahiwal, Lodhran, Mianwali, and Bahawalpur. A Board of Governors was constituted for each university to oversee its establishment and development.
