Public and Optional Holidays 2021 Regarding Festivals of Muslims and Minorities

The government of Pakistan, Ministry of Interior has issued Notification No. 01/01/2020-Public on 10-12-2020. Also, in connection with Public and Optional Holidays for the year 2021. Hence according to this notification the Public and Optional Holidays 2021 Regarding Festivals of Muslims and Minorities. Similarly, for the calendar year, 2021 would be as under:

Public and Optional Holidays 2021

Public Holidays will be observed according to the following schedule. Hence Name of Occasion, Days and Dates during the year 2021. For example, Kashmir Day will be on Friday the 5th February 2021, and Pakistan Day will be on Tuesday the 23rd March 2021. Similarly, Labour Day will be on Saturday the 1st of May 2021. Likewise, Eid-ul-Fitr, (1st Shawal 1442 A.H) will be on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday the 14th, 15th, and 16th May 2021. Furthermore, Eid-ul-Azha, (10th Zil Haj 1442 A.H) will be on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday the 21st July, 22nd, and 23rd July 2021.

However, Independence Day will be on Saturday the 14th of August 2021. Similarly, Ashura (9th & 10th Moharram 1443 A.H) will be on Wednesday and Thursday the 18th & 19th August 2021. Likewise, Eid Milad-un-Nabi (12th Rabi-ul-Awwal 1443 A.H) will be on Tuesday the 19th of October 2021. Furthermore, the Quaid-e-Azam Day / Christmas will be on Saturday the 25th December 2021. Similarly, Day after Christmas will be on Sunday the 26th December 2021 (For Christians only). Hence in the case of Muslim Festivals, the dates of Holidays based on anticipated dates. Similarly, are subject to the appearance of the moon for which separate notification will issue by the Ministry of Interior.

Bank Holidays

Hence the following will be Bank Holidays. However, on these days banks/DFIs/MFBs will remain closed for the public but not for their employees. Day and Date for Bank Holidays is 1st January 2021 (Friday). Similarly, 14th April 2021 (Wednesday) corresponding to 1st Ramazan 1442 AH. (Subject to the appearance of the moon) and 1st July 2021 (Thursday).

Optional Holidays

Optional Public Holidays will be observed according to the following schedule. Hence Name of Occasion, Days and Dates during the year 2021. For example, New Year Day will be on Friday the 1st January 2021. Basant Punchami will be on Tuesday the 16th Feb 2021. Similarly, Shivaratri will be on Thursday the 11th March 2021. Shab-e-Meraj (27 Rajab 1442 A.H) will be on Friday the 12th March 2021. Likewise, Holi will be on Sunday & Monday the 28th or 29th March 2021. Dulhandi will be on Monday the 29th March 2021. Furthermore, Shab-e-Barat (15th Shaban 1442 A.H)) will be on Monday the 29th March 2021. Good Friday will be on Friday the 2nd of April 2021. Similarly, Easter / Day after Easter Sunday will be on Sunday / Monday the 4th/5th April 2021 and Baisakhi will be on Wednesday the 14th April 2021.

Hence Eid-e-Rizwan (Bahal’s Community only) will be on Wednesday the 21st April 2021. Buddha Purnima will be on Wednesday the 26th May 2021. Likewise, Nauroze (Parsi’s New Year day) will be on Monday the 16th of August 2021. The Birthday of Lord Zoroaster Khordad Sal) will be on Saturday the 21st August 2021. Similarly, Janam Ashtami will be on Monday the 23rd August 2021, and Chehlum (20th Safar 1443 AH) will be on Tuesday the 28th September 2021. Furthermore, Durga Puja will be on Monday the 13th September 2021, and Dussehra will be on Wednesday the 15th September 2021.

Similarly, Giyarvee Shareef (11th Rabi-Us-Sani 1443 AH) will be on Monday the 18th October 2021, and the Birthday of Guru Valmik Swami Ji will be on Wednesday the 20th October 2021. Likewise, Diwali will be on Thursday the 4th November 2021 and Guru Nanak Dev Jee Birthday will be on Thursday the 18th November 2021.
