PEC Scholarship Scheme 2020 Merit cum Need Based. Hence Pakistan Engineering Council scholarship scheme is to provide an opportunity to needy students from under-privileged areas of the country. Similarly enabling them as pride & proud engineers with desired competence and skills in public sector leading HEls as per the need of industry to play due role in socio-economic development in society.

PEC Scholarship Scheme 2020 Merit cum Need Based

Hence Under this scheme, 500 scholarships will be awarded in a cycle of 4 years (125 per year) to the students of domicile from under-privileged areas. Particularly in the order of preference of Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Tribal Areas, including KP, Sindh and Punjab. However the amount of scholarship will be Rs. 100,000/- per year. Hence to cover partially the tuition fee, living expenses and books etc. Similarly the respective HEI, where student has secured admission in Fall-2020. Likewise may also extend additional support to their selected students (financial or in-kind) as partner to PEC initiative.

Eligibility Criteria

Hence the student must have a Secured admission in PEC accredited/approved undergraduate engineering programs (enlisted on PEC website https://www.pec.org.pk). Similarly of Public Sector Universities/ Institutions in Fall-2020. Likewise Domicile of under-privileged areas of Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Tribal Areas, KP, Sindh and Punjab. Hence Family income less than or equal to PKR. 50,000/- per month and is not availing any other scholarship. Similarly the eligible students may apply on Scholarship Application Form (available on website at www.pec.org.pk/scholarship.aspx). However duly completed in all respects and submit through the respective university at the address below. Furthermore the deadline for submission of application is Saturday, November 30, 2020. However the scrutiny & assessment will be carried out by PEC Scholarship Committee in consultation with the respective HEls for the award of scholarship as per the approved criteria.

PEC Introduction

Hence PEC main statutory functions include registration of engineers, consulting engineers, constructors/operators. Similarly accreditation of engineering programmes offered by universities/institutions. Likewise ensuring and managing of continuing professional development, assisting the Federal Government as Think Tank. However establishing standards for engineering products and services besides safeguarding the interest of its members. Furthermore the council shall encourage, facilitate and regulate working of professional engineering bodies. Hence for creativity and as custodians of engineering under the umbrella of the Council.

However PEC interacts with the Government, both at the Federal and Provincial level by participating in Commissions, Committees and Advisory Bodies. Similarly PEC is a fully representative body of the engineering community in the country. Likewise PEC has also been providing support to the Government in conducting technical enquiries and recommending remedial measures on the subjects referred. Hence Over the years, the Pakistan Engineering Council has become an influential voice, which speaks for the engineering profession as a whole in the country.
