Introduction to KPPSC
Hence the institution of the Public Service Commission, for the first time evolved under articles 264,265, and 266 of the Government of India Act 1935. However, Article 188 of the 1956 Constitution and Article 186 of the 1962 Constitution of Pakistan provided for the establishment of the Public Service Commission. Hence the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission is established under article 242 of the 1973 Constitution and is functional under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa PSC Ordinance 1978.
Hence under Khyber Pakhtunkhwa PSC Ordinance 1978 and KPPSC (Functions) Rules, 1983 read with amendments, the Commission performs the following functions. However, conduct tests and examinations for recruitment to The civil service of the province and civil posts in connection with affairs of the province in basic pay scale 16 and above or equivalent. Furthermore, Posts in basic pay scale 11 to 15 or equivalent specified in certain Departments of the Provincial Government (except the District cadre posts):

Hence Allocation of seats to all quotas on a region-wise basis shall be strictly followed in the allocation of seats. However, the Government reserves the right to fill or not to fill any post. Similarly, Candidates who have already availed three chances by physical appearance before the Commission and have failed for the post(s) having one and the same qualifications, pay scale, and nomenclature of post shall be ineligible. Likewise In case, the number of applications of candidates is disproportionately higher than the number of posts, shortlisting will make in any one of the following manners. Firstly Written Test in the Subject. Secondly General Knowledge or Psychological General Ability Test. Thirdly Academic and/or Professional records as the Commission may decide.
